I have created a custom button for a firefox but have not been able to have it signed for use. I get the error when i submit it that it is missing the install.rdf and the manifest file - both of which are there and formatted correctly.
That error could appear if the package includes the containing folder with the manifest. That is, the manifest must be in the root of the package for the add-on to be recognized.
