[Support] uBlock Origin

It’s a side effect of uBO’s scriplet injected on the page to remove the warning at the top asking users to disable their blocker:

Something went wrong!
The page has not loaded completely and some content and functionality are corrupted. Please reload the page or if you are running ad blocking disable it. …

I changed the scriptlet to fix that bad side-effect, force an update of your filter lists by purging the cache of uBlock filters.

hmw3:
I notice that for websites which have drop down spelling suggestions as
ones types, uBlock blocks the dropdown, and therefore, no suggestons.
Here is an example site:http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/

It’s a side effect of uBO’s scriplet injected on the page to remove
the warning at the top asking users to disable their blocker:

Thanks for the clarification. Is there any way that I can get the dropdown, but not eliminate the removal of the warnings?

Harry

strong text I have a question. Ublock is fantastic and works like a charm! I love it. The question I have is how can I post a link on this site I go too without disabling Ubloc? I post links on this one site I belong too and now since I install Ubloc it won’t work. Is there a way I can still block and post a link?

Let me formulate the question better this time, making it concise:

I want to block

###contents

only on the homepage, https://gaming.youtube.com, not on any sub-URLs of it, which would be https://gaming.youtube.com/whatever. Is this possible?

No, not possible, only plain hostnames can be used for specific cosmetic filters, as per Adblock Plus filters documentation.

Having a hard time creating a filter that will block the social-promo-flyin video that blesses articles on bleacherreport.com. Example can be seen, here (let the page loan then start to scroll – the video will make itself known):

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Try (cut and paste in My filters):

||bleachertrans-vh.akamaihd.net/i/prod-cms-video/prod-cms-video-delivery$xmlhttprequest,domain=bleacherreport.com
bleacherreport.com###social-promo-flyin

If it works, it would be nice that you report the issue + solution to EasyList maintainers, so all can benefit from the filters.

Worked! Gracias. Solution has been submitted to EasyList.

How to mass block third-party resources on multiple domains of the same name ?

For example, I tried ||$third-party,domain=animmex.*, but it doesn’t work !

Adding domains individually, is such a pain, so a mass block with * should work.

Hello all,
How do i prevent the tab "uBlock Origin has prevented the following page from loading: " from popping out? i like it not to pop-up and close by the user.

On Chrome version Version 55.0.2883.75 on MacOS Sierra, often tabs don’t finish loading and keep spinning. For example, loading https://daringfireball.net/ will not show the favicon for me with ublock enabled. Disabled, it finishes loading just fine.

The ads at the beginning of the videos of www.t-online.de are not blocked anymore.
I cannot find a working combination of red, grey and green anymore.
To be more accurate, if I set “hgc-cf-cache-1.svonm.com” to red (on the right hand tab), the ads actually do stop, but the videos are doing so as well, because after only a few seconds of playing they are paused, and after resuming them, there’s only sound and a grey video box.
Btw., I’m on a Linux Mint 18 MATE 64bit with FF 50.0.2 and µBlock origin 1.10.0 installed.
What can I do about this now, please?

I keep getting this warning/error because EFF’s Privacy Badger is conflicting with EFF’s uBlock Origin: https://cl.ly/3Q2c371Q3K09

The new beta Resolution Center breaks is uBlock is enabled, making the “Message Buyer” and “Send an Offer” buttons unusable.

uBlock “vs” ABE (Noscript)

I need to use ABE on Noscript to enable some 3rd party script on some sites but not on the rest of the web; sadly Noscript does not provide an easy interface like ublock, so one wanting more fine control has to write rules in ABE.

In uBlock I can block those script in a more flexible way, I can for example block them on all the web but where I want themm active.

So the question is what is different between the 2 solutions; I mean, does it make sense to use only one of them? Are they redundant? Are they actually different?

@gorhill - Is it feasible, within the existing codebase, to flip the whitelist/blacklist logic such that one could browse with uBlock disabled by default and enable it on a site by site basis? The exact inverse of the on-by-default logic today.

Hey,
I am trying to go to this page with uBlock enabled. It tells me that I have an AdBlocker enabled, so I disable uB0. However, I even get the “You have an Adblocker enabled” message even though uB0 is clearly disabled.

I wonder whether this is a problem with uB0 or my computer…
