Lightning for Thunderbird: Copy email to calendar

To manager my workflow I would like to add sent emails to my calendar, or at least the subject of the email. Of course I can copy and paste it, but that takes quite some time. I am looking for an easier way. Does anyone know if there is a fast way or an add-on to do this.

One example of why I’d like to do this is:
I have sent someone an email asking him to do something for me before Friday. For Friday, I want to add in my Calendar to send me a notification to check if I have already received a reply.

I have Windows 7 which has no email program with it. I get Thunderbird and the calendar program Lightning came as an add-on. I was getting real excited about it the Thunderbird updated to 52.0 and the Lightning calendar is not compatible. Talk about frustration. If you update a program you need to make sure the add-ons will work with the new version.
Please, I really need a good calendar. Microsoft really messed up with Windows 7. Took away the email programs AND the windows calendar.
